A hospital located in southern New Hampshire had problems with the concrete infrastructure of their double T system in their public parking garage. The concrete hanging down from the ceiling was deteriorating to the point where chunks of concrete were cracking off and in some cases falling completely to the floor. The facilities manager contacted CorrTech to remedy the situation.
An immediate inspection was performed by CorrTech on their three level parking garage structure. As a result several conditions were identified as contributing to the concrete deterioration within the garage. The most common and prevalent of these was the road salt bearing water which infiltrates through the concrete to the pre stressed wire strands embedded within the double-T beams, resulting in spalling concrete and vehicle damage.
CorrTech provided a phased design-build scope of services to address both short term corrosion issues, and long term corrosion mitigation and maintenance.
